What is Quanta?

What is Quanta?

I get this question a lot, and the confusion is understandable.

Are we accounting software?
Are we an outsourced accounting firm?

The answer is both — but not in the way people expect.

Quanta replaces your outsourced accounting firm. Our team owns your books end to end: bookkeeping, reconciliations, revenue recognition, the close, and the judgment calls that come with running a scaling software company.

But the accounting work doesn’t live in spreadsheets or in a traditional general ledger. It happens inside the Quanta system itself. The schedules are native. The reconciliations are visible. The reasoning behind the numbers stays attached as the work is done.

The service and the system are designed together. That’s the point.

Books you can actually run the business on

Early finance leaders are rarely hired to just manage accounting. They’re hired to help the business move.

Burn and runway. Hiring plans. Board updates. Pricing changes. The endless stream of “can you sanity check this?” questions that show up when a company is growing fast.

Accounting becomes painful when it doesn’t support that pace. Not because anyone is doing a bad job, but because the work and the context get separated.

The books close, but the story behind them lives somewhere else. And when someone asks what changed mid-month, you’re back digging for it.

Quanta is built to keep the story attached.

Our team owns the books end-to-end, from reconciliations and policy changes to SaaS edge cases and the judgment calls that keep financials usable.

We work with you directly in Slack and inside Quanta. You’re not filing tickets into a queue. You’re working with people who know your business.

Because the accounting happens inside Quanta, the work stays visible as it’s done. The context behind the numbers stays attached.

Explainable finance, built into how the work happens

When the work and the system live together, the context doesn’t drift.

Every transaction, reconciliation, and applied decision stays connected to the financial record. The schedules aren’t separate artifacts. The explanation isn’t spread across spreadsheets and threads.

So when something moves — burn, margin, revenue, cash — you’re not reconstructing the story after the fact. You can see what changed, why it changed, and how it affects the numbers because the reasoning is attached to the work that created them.

That’s what makes the books defensible.

Analysis for finance, without rebuilding context

Once the record stays connected, analysis gets a lot simpler.

You’re not exporting data into a spreadsheet just to sanity check a number. You’re investigating ARR, margin, burn, and cash flow directly on top of the same record the accounting team maintains.

So when you ask:

  • What changed in burn this month, and what specifically drove it?

  • What moved the operating margin this quarter?

  • What drove the change in ARR — new bookings, expansion, contraction, or churn?

  • Which customers have outstanding balances, and why?

You’re not getting a vague explanation. You’re getting an answer you can trace to the underlying activity and the decisions that shaped it.

See Quanta in action

Quanta is accounting services and software designed as one system.

You get an expert team that owns the books, and you get a continuously maintained financial record where the context stays attached as the work happens.

If you’re evaluating Quanta, the fastest way to understand it is to see it.

Book a demo, and we’ll walk you through how the platform is structured, what you’ll see during the month, and how you go from financial statements to the activity behind them without rebuilding the story yourself.
